New Charmingly Ghetto music "Kickz-N-Starez EP"

Hey everyone! Yes, I know I've been missing in action and I might elaborate on that in a later post, but this post is to let you know about some new music from Charmingly Ghetto. Listen to this and enjoy.

"With much momentum gained in 2012, Charmingly Ghetto is back in rotation with a seven-track EP presented by The Mad Bloggers and Heyday Footwear. Yet again, C.G. extends his collaborative efforts and creates an international product with Kickz-N-Starez.

Production credits on this tape range from East to West domestically, and reach over the pond to France and Germany. C.G. continues to flow flawlessly over instrumentals, with guest features from ScienZe, Maya Azucena and Lyric Jones."

To me this music has a late night listening vibe to it, whether you're chillin in your room relaxing or cruising in your car. "Simple Days" is a cool track featuring Brooklyn's hip hop artist Scienze.

Jay Wise DTF Radio Interview & Freestyle

As you know I'm cool with rapper Jay Wise and here's an interview he had recently. You see the shirts that I printed up for him  (Branded Baron Printing.com is coming soon, but you can contact through e-mail if you're looking for shirts). Enjoy the freestyle he performs at the end. Also, the song at the beginning is going to be a ridiculously fun music video, which is going to be awesome. I will blog about the details and the behind the scenes when that info is ready.

Throwback Thursday: "Fugees- Fu-Gee-La"

Here's a throwback for ya. I remember listening to this song and it's the one that got me to become a fan of the Fugees. I remember my aunt had two copies of their album "The Score" and she gave me one. I still have the cd along with a ton of other cds, which are taking up space since it's an old form of music now, but that's a discussion for another day. Enjoy this song and let it bring you back.

New Daniel Joseph Music "Heaven

Hello everyone! It's a good day, new Branded Baron has been released and my homie Daniel Joseph releases new music. He collaborated with his buddies JS Krillz(producer) and JahSyah to form He Who Shines Truly. The beat has some nice drums, a good sampled hook, and almost has a house feel to it and the rapping is on point.  Daniel Joseph said the song is between a conversation he had with JahSyah and it is explained in the song. I believe there's a 6 song EP coming soon, so check it out if I'm slow to post about it.

Big Pun feat. Cuban Link "Toe 2 Toe"

This is one of my favorite Big Pun tracks. The beat is hard and Big Pun and Cuban Link are beastin on it. It's my Throwback Thursday song. I feel this song has the vibe of the Royal Rebellion line.

Listen and enjoy.

Criticize my Hustle by IL Lusciato

This month fellow rapper/producer/musician and Branded Baron supporter IL Lusciato is releasing new songs. This is second of his "Summer of Samples" series and I definitely like the beat. I always thought he had some good jazz sampled instrumentals and he raps over it talking about his hustle being criticized. He said, "This is for anyone is chasin their dreams hard as they can and has ppl always trying to "advise" you . . . tell em to do what you do then talk . . . REPOST if you relate to this esp my fellow hiphop crowd . ."

Definitely check it out the songs, since he'll be releasing it via youtube first at http://www.youtube.com/user/illusciato

Justina's "Hard to the body" music video

This is a video from New Jersey native recording artist Justina. I've followed her music for a bit and she has a style that is cool. If I had to describe her music it would be an edgy hip pop sound, if that makes any sense. Watch the video, you'll get an idea what I mean or at least you can listen to her song "Go F*ck Yaself" to prove my point. Anyway, I just wanted to show some love and share this video. If you like follow here on twitter at http://twitter.com/justinamusic or watch her videos on youtube or buy her tracks at http://myworld.marketamerica.com/Justina/. The best bet to find more on her is to go to her site http://www.JustinaMusic.com/.

Thought of the Day from Jonasty w/ discount code

For all youtube and vlogger fans, I bring you the "Thought of the Day" with Jonasty. He's a vlogger that I've watched due to Jay Wise and Jay Wise makes a guest appearance in this video. Jonasty always has different topics that he discusses like naked celebrity, pick up lines, vampires, and more. His videos are entertaining and a bit silly. You can subscribe to his youtube at http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJonastyFiles

One thing that you'll immediately notice is the "Born An Original, Don't Die A Copy" t-shirt! There is a discount code, which is 15% off. It originally was 12% and then I decided that I felt like being a bit more generous, so I decided to change it. I was hoping the video was recorded, but it was oh well. Check out the video to see what the discount code is.

Rasheed Chappell "What I'm Here 4" feat. DJ Scratch

I first saw Rasheed Chappell perform about a year ago at a Black Flag event, actually I believe it was for the Haiti Help fundraiser, and I thought he had skills. I personally like his sound and it brings back the grittiness of Hip Hop that is needed again. I know he's not wearing a Branded Baron tee, but shout out to him for rocking the Marvin the Martian t-shirt. How many people really like Marvin the Martian?

Rasheed Chappell's debut album "Future Before Nostalgia" is slated to drop soon, produced entirely by Kenny Dope has already tagged as one of the most anticipated releases of 2011 by blogs, radio & Hip Hop fans. You know I wouldn't post this video if I didn't think it wasn't quality. Check it out. Follow Rasheed on twitter at twitter.com/rasheedchappell

Photo of the Day: Video Shoot

So, here's a snapshot of the music video shoot by the Corp Cartel. It's a bit hard to see, but Jay Wise(on the left) is rocking the Carpe Diem sweatshirt. I'm looking forward to seeing the music video to the song, "Higher", because it should be pretty damn good.

Okwerdz.com header has Okwerdz wearing Branded Baron

So, I went to Okwerdz.com and low and behold I see the header has Okwerdz rocking Branded Baron. Now that's great, because you see a clear view of the Branded Baron design, minus the snakes' heads. It's definitely cool to see that. Unfortunately the green "To Live Is To Fight" t-shirts are sold out, but the gray ones are not. There are very few left, so pick up one now if you like it. CLICK HERE

If you like Okwerdz style, buy his music. He is a video from his site, which I thought was funny. Okwerdz battles a drummer in their freestyle competition. It was entertaining and Eric Moore, the drummer is pretty good.

NSFW due to language.

It's Crak! has Branded Baron as "Brand of the week"

Shout out to Crusafix who interviewed me for his blog "It's Crak!" I enjoy doing interviews and I'm happy to all those who like to interview. Crusafix is always on his grind and has this blog that I think you should check out when you get a chance. He has "video of the day", posts on events,  hip hop, art, "spotlight of the week", and more. He discusses how we crossed paths and asks some questions which haven't been asked before. What does inspire me and is designing for women more fun than men? Check out our feature as "BRAND OF THE WEEK" here : http://itscrak.blogspot.com/2010/12/brand-of-week-branded-baron.html

Recording Session with Jay Wise, Daniel Joseph & MORE

Last night was a good musical evening. Jay Wise was in the studio recording for his next music endeavor, "The Wake Up Call" with artists Daniel Joseph, Reynos, M. Class, Young Tana, and Politiks. Let me say it was packed in a small room and I don't think any of the other rooms at the studio was any larger. It was great to say all these guys just vibe off each other and create something hot. I arrived with Daniel Joseph while they were working on the next club hit. This party song is ridiculously hot. Yes, it's REEEDUNKULOUS. Then the next songs to have verses added were "Grown Up Fresh"(view previous post) and this one serious song. Daniel Joseph wasn't suppose to be on the "Grown up fresh", but he told Jay he had a verse for it and BOOM he's on it now. The video catches some of the recording shenanigans and you get to hear what's there. Chatting it up with everyone was cool and Reynos had some funny stories. He was telling how a guy driving a van "Jesus Loves You" in bold red letter across it wanted to sign him. It turned out to be a priest, but no one knew who he was at first. The way he told it was hysterical. "Who hits a priest? lol Young Tana left early, because he was keeping it stunningly fresh with this girl. He records a party song and then goes parties. That's real. Of course Jay Wise was rocking a Branded Baron tee and Daniel Joseph was wearing the Branded Baron pin. Check it out.

Kokayi's "Robots & Dinosaurs"

Music was something that I've always wanted to affiliate Branded Baron with and you can see that with shirts like our Astrohop and Listen To Your Heart. I always want to strive to be progressive and create designs that are hot, unique, and connect with the wearer in some way. I'm very picky when it comes to my designs and rightfully so. I have high standards. From my second in command, Anthony to whoever is helping me sell at shows to even when the Branded Baron shirts are being printed. We should never subject ourselves to mediocrity. Everyone has different tastes that's a given, but as long as we have high standards then everything is fine.

Since I'm so picky with music as well, especially purchasing music, when I do pick an album it's almost quite a feat. Introduce Kokayi(Pronounced “Ko-Kah-Yee” (or KOKE for short), Qn5 Music's latest grammy nominated artist. His latest album "Robots & Dinosaurs" is a great 14 track album of good music. His backbone would be hip hop, but he shouldn't be labeled a hip hop artist. No, this Washington D.C. native knows how to blend funk, afropunk, hip hop, rock, and soul to create a fresh sound for your ears. He actually can sing unlike many people out there who use autotune or a rapper that think they can harmonize.  The production uses a lot of real instrumentation layered wonderfully, which again is rare in today's music.

You can listen to his entire album here and if you want to buy it, it's only $7: http://qn5music.bandcamp.com/album/robots-dinosaurs
If you want a hard copy or have become such a fan that you want more you can pick up the "Paleo Pack" which has a more than the album go here: http://qn5.com/kokayi/

You'll this is on the bandcamp page:
The official follow-up to 2008’s Mass Instructions, Robots & Dinosaurs is a self-produced tour de force that showcases the Grammy-nominated artist’s varied talents on every track. With lush layers of live instrumentation, soulfully expressive sung-vocals and wordplay galore, Kokayi has managed to create a work that highlights the spaces between the extremes of modern pop, rock & hip hop and subsequently deletes them.

Like anything else, this may be for some people and not others. Just give it a listen and listen again, then decide. I'm going to listen to Kokayi's "Ninety 5" which features Substantial & Tonedeff.

Real Deal Radio & Jay Wise video

I know I should've uploaded this back when I was on Real Deal Radio, but here is the before, a bit of during the show, and after. It has Jay Wise kicking a verse and I surprise him with the camera while he's recording. It's entertaining and if you want to only watch Jay Wise rap, you can see that as well.

Stay No Less Than Stunningly Fresh,

For some reason the quality of the Jay Wise solo video is better. I don't get it.
