Not Yo Mama's Craft Fair '11 Recap

Hey Everyone! This past Saturday I was the 3rd annual Not Yo Mama's Craft Fair in downtown Jersey City. I liked the turnout last year and knew that I had to do it again this year. It was great to see that this event was larger and outdoors on a nice summer day. They had music performances,  good food, beer, and great vendors. I have to say that everyone lucked out with the weather being nice, because it was supposed to be ugly.

That day I was all alone and was unable to have any fellow Branded Baron supporters come through to help me sell. It happens, but luckily my friend Anderson of Bluu Dreams was near my tent, so I can occasionally chit chat, during any slow periods of the day with him and his fellow helpers. Also, I made sure I treasured any conversations I had with whoever stopped by the table. I do enjoy talking about the brand, informing people about it, and cracking jokes and making sure you leave the table happy.

The day started off a bit slow in the beginning of the day, but people came by checked out the stuff and bought. It wasn't until early evening/late afternoon where it got packed. One downside of being by yourself at an event like this is if you're hit with a bunch of people, it's hard dealing with everyone at the same time. I don't like to make people wait, but I'm glad everyone was patient and they left with some good Branded Baron items. It was good to see some previous customers come by and buy something new. One previous cusotmer came by on his bicycle with his son in bicycle seat basket( I have no idea what to call it, I've never seen it before, but thought it was cool), and he was unsure what tee to get and let his son choose the color. Cases like those I feel like I should have children size tees. I also met some pretty cool people that came by, like a couple that really loved my stickers to another that felt the designs strongly related to them and bought the last tee I had left in those styles. It was also great to see people I haven't seen since high school.

I personally had a real good time and I think you would've been able to see that, not saying that I don't always have a good time. Some shirts are sold out, so if there's a tee you want grab it, because I know I will not be reprinting the shirts. I'm sorry I couldn't get more pictures of the event, but I tried to get what I can and take photos of those who let me show they are now Branded Baron. Take a looksie.

It was really cool, because he wore this t-shirt after he bought it.

Early in the day.

She really loved this color and the design, which made me feel really good when I heard the compliments. I know she was contemplating whether to buy it or not for awhile, but I know she was happy with her purchase.

He and his girlfriend(below) were very cool people. They really liked the t-shirts. He got hooked up with the matching poster. Yea, they're both stunningly fresh!

They're stunningly fresh! I hooked them up with a bunch of stickers. I try to hook it up.

Recap: Creative Grove 6/18

Friday was another day where Branded Baron shirts were being sold. This was the second time I was at thie artist market and I'm glad I was able to go. This time I made sure I got a bigger space, because I wanted to showcase Branded Baron more. I wanted to "peacock", so that the Branded Baron area stood out and attracted those walking by. As you can see I had more space with the tent, instead of just the table. The downside was the wind was strong at times, that it was knocking the shirt rack, until I was able to get some weight on it. That day was I was accompanied by fellow Branded Baron supporter and family member, my brother Kevin. It was cool to have him help out and I'm very appreciative for it. Next to us was a face painter and an artist, plus near us was another t-shirt company. I debated about getting my face painted, because hey we're all kids inside. I tried getting Kevin to get his face painted a couple times, but he declined each time. I couldn't wear him down to finally get that done. lol The other vendors were pretty cool.

The day started off slow, but then it picked up. Creative Grove had a DJ, but they also had karaoke. I must say that I'm glad I was able to borrow the girlfriend's portable ipod stereo. Kevin and I weren't able to take some of the atrocious singing. On a hot sunny Friday afternoon, why would anyone sing a sad song? People want to chill and party, especially if they left work. I will say that there were a couple people who could sing, but I enjoyed listening to my ipod, until it died. It was funny, because the guys next to us were asking for me to raise the volume of the ipod.

There seemed to be a positive response from everyone who stopped by. Thanks for all the people who now wear Branded Baron. It was good to see some familiar faces at this artist market and great to meet some new ones. I met Crusafix of Real Deal Radio, who is now Branded Baron. We were chatting for a bit on hip hop and he got some exclusive goodies when he picked up the "Space Can" tee. Expect to see myself and Jay Wise at the Real Deal internet show next Saturday.

I hope to participate at the Creative Grove a lot more this summer and since it is weekly, it would be great to do so. I'll announce on twitter and facebook on Thursday if I'm going to be there on Friday. I will post on the blog when Branded Baron will be selling at other events & festivals. So if you're in the neighborhood come on by. I enjoy meeting new people and new supporters. Let's be Stunningly Fresh.

Stay No Less Than Stunningly Fresh,
Joe

Another person rocking Branded Baron. He was a cool dude and shout out to his friend who bought some shirts for her friend...or was it her brother? Either way thanks you too.

Recap: Brooklyn Indie Market

Yesterday was a beautiful Spring day and in Brooklyn Branded Baron apparel was being sold. The Brooklyn Indie Market is a great place for designers to sell their fashion or accessories and I believed Branded Baron would fit right in. I packed my car with fellow Branded Baron helper, supporter, and my girlfriend, Tiffany with the Branded Baron items and left Jersey to head into Brooklyn. Danette, one of the Branded Baron models and designers would eventually meet us there to help out, so I knew we had a good team to help the customers.

As we arrived at the Brooklyn Indie Market(located on Smith Street & Union Street) I saw the big red and white tent with the Brooklyn Indie Market banner and was excited. I was pleased to find out that the kiosk I got to use was on the side of the street with a great visibility by all people passing by. Tiff and I set up the kiosk where it looked appealing and showed the variety of shirts.

From 11-6:30 we were selling. It was good to see people walking by checking out the shirts, complimenting, especially with the highest compliment which was purchasing a shirt or two. Since the March Madness sale is still going on, all the apparel had the sale prices. I liked being able to speak to everyone and seeing which designs they liked. I have to say yesterday's popular purchases were the "Gamer" shirt and the "Listen To Your Heart" design on all of the different color choices that were available. I forgot to take pictures of everyone who purchased, but I did remember at one point, so there are a couple of people holding up the Branded Baron shirts they will soon wear. It was cool to see Ray the owner of the clothing companyLowdtown to stop by and chat it up for awhile. Ray showed Danette and I a quick glimpse of a new design he's working on. He has a current sale on his site as well if you want to check it out.

I did bring some sweatshirts and it seemed odd, since it was so warm out and the sun was hitting us making it even warmer, but I knew it would get chilly later on. At one point of the day it went from nice to being really chilly. We were given a heater, which was great, but it was pretty difficult to keep three people warm with a small heater.

Overall, the experience was fun and I think Branded Baron will be back at the Brooklyn Indie Market another day and hopefully we'll have some new shirts.

Joe

Now for more pictures & video

The video was straight to the point.

This is the kiosk before it was filled with Branded Baron apparel.

Apparently when I looked up, I saw Tiff taking a picture of me setting up.

This is a cool picture.

She definitely liked the Listen To Your Heart t-shirt.
She came through with her guitar and picked up a small "Astrohop" t-shirt.

Ray from Lowdtown and I chatting it up.

Tiffany sitting down waiting to help the next customer to come on by.

Danette was talking to someone and I had to eat at some point, but look at the presentation of the shirts on the table.
