Let's Talk: Allen E Z Interview

I decided that I want to interview a bunch of artists, so the public can get to know them better. I decided to begin these series with Allen E Z aka Allen E. It was a fun video, since he was crackin jokes, but it was also difficult. Some of you may remember him when I posted about his duo's (the Gem-N-I) mixtape a year ago, but now he has his own solo project called "The Tour Fly". We touch on that and plenty of other topics.

You can download his mixtape here.

Don't worry these will get better, since now I have one under my belt and know what works and doesn't. There were a bunch of footage that I wanted, but couldn't include. Anyway enjoy. Also, due to the language this footage is NSFW.

Thanks again for Allen EZ and hopefully he gains some new fans.

Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival 2011 Recap Video

Hello everyone! I know I've been slacking on the blog and I apologize. Finally here is a video recap of what you missed. It is only a sample of some of the performances and what went down. It was a hot day, but it was great day. Tons of performers, a lot of vendors(too many if you ask me and some that I didn't think should've been there, but whatever), graff artists, and all around good hip hop vibe. Here are some extra videos with Kanye West and Busta Rhymes on stage with Q-tip. Let me tell you everyone went nuts and it was hard for me to get a picture or video the performance. The performances overall were on point, because I became new fans for some artists. Since I knew Q-tip was headlining, I definitely hoped he brought out Busta for "Scenario" and he did and I was happy. Q-tip even brought out Monie Love. Honestly the whole day was crazy. I'm mad I wasn't able to catch everyone, because I was selling Branded Baron tees and tanks, but hey it's okay.

Photos from the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Part 1

I still have to give my recap and I apologize for not posting. I've been incredibly busy this past week and I'll be gone this weekend, so it'll be longer than expected but it'll give me time to fully evaluate the time.

J. Craig - BAMBU (My crew) Music Video

J. Craig - BAMBU (My Crew) from Joe Zevallos on Vimeo.

New Jersey emcee J. Craig released his new music video for the song "BAMBU (My Crew)" produced by Mello Mel. If you look closely you'll see a Branded Baron tee. The video he wanted was to look real raw with the old school Wu-tang feel. If you like what you hear visit his site here and follow him on twitter.

Cyanide and Happiness is such a funny and very crude comic strip. I thought this one was very clever and should be shared.

Hey Everybody! It's BACK! The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is back. Seems like time flew, since it felt like not too long ago I was there selling Branded Baron apparel. Now, the Branded Baron tent will be back and I'm excited to see all the performances. I'm a fan of Hip Hop culture as I'm sure you can tell from some of the t-shirts offered, so I'm really excited to see the performances. I'm pretty excited for the line up, selling, and meeting new people. I'm going to have fun and really that's what it's about. Below is  more info.

Mosaic Skate Shop Gallery in the Bronx holds Branded Baron

I'm proud to announce that Branded Baron is now stocked in the Bronx. You can check out Mosaic Skate Shop Gallery for all you skateboarding needs and apparel. What's really cool about this place, is that it has art hanging around the wall. Every month there is an art event and the exhibits range from paintings to photography. If you wondering why "gallery" was in the store's name, that is why. I personally think it is really cool to also promote the arts. I know they're planning a new art event at the end of July, will have a some sort of water balloon fight sometime soon, and their one year anniversary is coming up in August.

I originally knew about this store through another brand and I have to thank boy Chi for taking me, so I can meet with the owner Wilfredo in person. He's a cool guy and he's helping get a nice skate park built a couple blocks away from the store, which is great. It's great, because there's so many skaters in the area and the closest skate park is downtown. I applaud him to helping give back to the community. He also has some limited edition art prints to raise money for the Japan Relief Fund, because I don't know if you forgot, but it's still bad over there. Mosaic is a big win, skateboarding + stunningly fresh apparel + art + film + giving back to the community and world = awesome.

(Wilfredo hanging up the Statue of Liberty tanks)

I've been to this store a couple times and once I was able to get Branded Baron into the store it felt really good. I was really excited yesterday when I delivered the custom colorway tank tops to them. Yes! That's right, they have exclusive Statue of Liberty Gangsta tank tops in a heather gray colorway. There will be this design on a white tank, but if you really like THAT colorway you have to go to Mosaic. That is extremely exclusive and there are a very limited amount.

Overall, I'm very happy to add another retailer to the list of Branded Baron stockists and I'm very happy it's Mosaic. It's a very cool place and I look forward to coming through there to the events and w/ new goodies.

Stickers! You can see the Branded Baron sticker on it!

When you walk into the store you are welcomed by this fine gentleman.

Get your skate stuff!

This was picture of the tank after being printed. I used water base ink, so the print is soft.
