Go Skate Day! Recap

The first day of summer also happens to be Go Skate Day, so I headed over my old stomping grounds for an event at the Union City skate park. Mark from Underground Skate Shop told me about this event awhile back and I had to go and support. It was ran by him and Bump Skateboards. I ended up seeing my boy Blis(you can see the little photoshoot I did of him skating here), Quim Cardona, and more badass skaters. There were contests throughout the day and these kids can throwdown. I came through to take photos, pass out some stickers, and give away a couple tees. Mostly Blis took care of passing out the stickers as I saw him sticking on them everywhere. He's a good dude. The event overall was a success and it was good to see them giving back to the community.

I took a hell of a lot of photos, so I'll be updating this post with photos constantly. In the meantime, before I take a break here are a couple to look at.

Skaters check out Maloof High Ollie Challenge

I thought that all the skateboarders out there might be interested in this competition. Here are the rules and skate shops that will be holding this competition. I know the closest one for me is the one in Bayonne, so hopefully I have time to head on by and check it out. For more info go to http://maloofmoneycup.com/skateboarding/

15 skate shops will run a contest on location throughout the month of January to see who can do the highest ollie.  One winner from each of those shops will be entered to compete against pro skateboarders at the semi-finals at Magic in Las Vegas February 14^th.  We will also run a viral High Ollie contest through MaloofMoneyCup.com. The contestant with the highest verifiable ollie will one spot in the semi finals.  Semi-finals will consist of the 16 skaters and a group of pro skaters. Top 4 from the semi-finals will go on to the finals at the Palms Resort and Casino on the 15^th. Grand prize is $10,000!
