MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - THRIFT SHOP FEAT. WANZ (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

This video here is just a fun video to go along with the fun song by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Although this song is about shopping at thrift stores, you can find some good apparel by heading into to the online store. I will have to admit that my Branded Baron "Listen to your heart" hoodies ended up in a thrift shop by accident as it somehow ended up in the bag of clothes I was donating. Someone definitely picked it up, because when I went to look at it, it was gone. That person has some good taste, but lucky for me I was able to print one for myself. I didn't want to print one at all to keep the exclusiveness to minimum, but it is my favorite design and I had to rock it.

Well aside from the little story enjoy this song by an artist that's been doing well the last couple years. He did have a big year by being features on this year's XXL Freshmen and having the number 1 album on iTunes, so I expect he'll continue to doing well.

Dunk XChange NYC 2011 Recap

This past Saturday was the Dunk XChange and it was cool. I continued to get the word out and sold shirts, but I'm not a fan that it was held at Hiro Ballroom. I felt that every vendor was too close to each other and it wasn't as easy for people to move around. Regardless, it's going to get pack one way or another, but it seemed like all the people that came through had a hard time walking around and could not see everything. The venue was definitely more appropriate for performances, which I like that Dunk XChange can provide that. I feel Crash Mansion was a better venue, but maybe that's me.

Eric Sosa & I holding a Branded Baron card and an Eric Sosa card.

I did have fun and did get to meet new people. The performances were cool and the majority of them were on point and enjoyable. In the video recap, you only get a glimpse of what you missed. Eric Sosa(former Mtv2 Sucker Free Freestyle winner) came by the table and he gave me his mixtape for free. I was ready to buy it, because I'm a fan of music and good artists, and that was cool that he gave me his mixtape "RHYME & NOODLES Vol.2".  Fred the Godson did his thing and while I was setting up, he was doing soundcheck so I had a preview of his set. Cyhi the Prince's performance was cool too. Pusha-T had everyone watching. I don't think many people were trading or selling during the main performances. I definitely vibed out to what was going on.

Overall, I had fun. Some things could be improved, but that's like everything else. I have to thank my boy Chi and Ruthie for coming through. Shout out to my girl's cousin Ted for stopping by as well as Jamal. I look forward to attending more Dunk Xchange events. Check out the video recap and the pictures.

Pusha T at Dunk Xchange

Recap of the Dunk Xchange will happen later, but here's a pic of Pusha-T performing at Dunk Xchange. There were some good performances while some trading and selling were going on.

Music Monday: Cunninlynguists "Looking Back" acoustic f Anna Wise of Sonnymoon

It is Music Monday and I thought it would be appropriate to show you guys a video of one of my favorite hip hop groups, the Cunninlynguists. I still believe they have one of the greatest names, but XXL thought it was one of the worst names a couple of years ago. Whatever. I've been a fan since I was a sophomore in high school I believe. Yea, I've been a fan of theirs for about 9 or 10 years. I think they've progressed from their early days of straight rappity rap to making mature music. Kno is one of the greatest producers and always lays down a great beat. Deacon the Villain, Kno, and the newest member Natti always do their thing on the microphone. Another thing I always liked is they always have some very well illustrated album covers.

The video I posted is an acoustic performance from their 5th studio album "Oneirology". This video features Anna Wise of Sonnymoon singing. You can listen to their entire album on their bandcamp page and you can purchase it from there as well. All of their albums, mixtapes, and singles are on that bandcamp page. You can find out more of this Southern hip hop group and other of my favorite hip hop artists at http://qn5.com/
